But Arboles! That's an apostate book, so clearly that's all lies.
Seriously though, to any elders who are lurking here: FUCK YOU. I mean that. From the bottom of my heart.
there are really only a couple of reasons an active elder would be lurking here on jwn.. .

Aunt Connie, you're either a brilliant satirist or a cunt.
I'm leaning towards the latter.
it has been a long time since i was on here and life has gone many different ways since then.
been married and getting divorced, and now have a son.
life has not been kind to me since i have left the org.

Tell me I'm not the only one who sees that comic as 100% sarcasm....
BTW Ravens, how is the book coming along?
my parents always says that demons are everywhere!
it's getting quite annoying!
they claims demons are in smurfs?
TI: I'm happy to tell you... Demons aren't real. Now, don't you feel better?
I recommend The Demon Haunted World - Carl Sagan. Very interesting read. Or if you don't feel like reading, watch some videos on YouTube about it.. I'd start with Fear and faith with Derren Brown.
Our brains can construct some amazing things.

Unstop - I think you will enjoy ISOCF. VERY long book, but ray dismantles nearly all of the WT doctrines, all with quotes to back it up. He did still believe in the last days, which I didn't agree with at the time.
And no, no Jesus for me thanks. If he decides to get around to that second coming everyone is talking about and proves he's real and deserves my attention, then opinions may change. Facts only for me. He may have to apologize for being absent all this time.
Lost gen - thanks, I'll get that one when I'm done the greatest show on earth. I mostly listen to audiobooks at work. We'll see if I'm not tired to listening to Dawkins narrate his own work. It seems his knowledge and experience is paralleled only by his arrogance.
i have been lurking on this forum for a few months and thought it was time i joined in.
a big thankyou goes to all who post here, i have enjoyed immensely all the thought provoking discussion and not so thought provoking (thanks recovery/ethos).
i have had heaps to get my head around recently learning the truth about the truth and as i remember reading here before its like digesting a brick.
Welcome!
Your name's 1984 reference did not go unnoticed...
please tell us more about yourself!
i am not a drinker but i hear single malt whiskeys are good.. yesterday at the liquor store, i asked a nice man, who also was looking over the bottle display, if he could tell me which one does he prefer and why.
one of the store clerks, came by, listening, and said she preferred the same bottle.. i bought the one they preferred:.
glenmorangie.
Do your hosts especially enjoy scotch?
I am very much a single malt guy. The glenmorangie you mentioned is delicious. If you're looking in that price range, a nice Bruichladdich or Macallans is also a nice choice. The Macallan 12 being my personal fave. Yum. Sipping a nice sherry cask single malt is one of my favourite things to do.
Most people's tastes are less likely to enjoy a smokier scotch, like a lagavulin.
I could go on for days...

88JM that kind of book doesn't interest me personally, but thanks for the suggestions

Oh and before unstopableravens comes on here to plead with me to come to Jesus...
I gave the whole come to Jesus thing an honest try. Ater reading ISOCF I was all fired up and began reading the bible everyday, enjoying it at first. According to the NT a Christian is just tied to Jesus, no church/cult needed. Unfortunately the more one digs into the bible, the more it presents itself as a big book of self-contradictory riddles and myths. If an all-powerful deity were to compile a set of writings, one would expect them not to be written in riddles. Especially when he'll kill you if you don't accept his riddle book.
Sorry bud, I'm not buying it. Besides, evolution is a beautiful process. Learning about it gives a sense of peace, finally finding the truth.
